How to Make a Call to a Campus Number

  1. Dial the last five digits of the phone number

How to Make a Long Distance Phone Call
  1. Dial 9-1-Area Code-Phone Number
How to Show Up on Caller ID
When making a call from one of the Wilson Lab phones, the phone number will show as “private number.” To make it so the phone number will show up on Caller ID, dial 118 before dialing the rest of the number as described above.
How to Answer Incoming Calls:
  1. To pick up an incoming call on Channel 11, dial #046011
  2. To pick up an incoming call on Channel 19, dial #046019
The CHESS Operator is responsible for answering the phone during off business hours (pager will alarm when phone rings).

To notify someone of a call:
  1. Put the caller on hold (press the hold button). A light will flash next to the channel the call is on (which is usually the Top Line on the phone). You can hang up the phone without losing the call once the caller is placed on hold
  2. Use the beamphone to announce that “(Name) has a call on CHESS Top Line”
  3. To pick up a call that is on hold, pick up the receiver and hit the button next to the light that is flashing

NOTE: Every station has a phone with a different phone number. If someone calls to talk to users at a specific station repeatedly, advise the person to call the station number directly. Station phone numbers can be found on index cards through the lab. They are also listed below:
A1: 255-0149 D1: 255-0281 G1: 254-3572
A2: 255-0197 F1: 255-0584 G2: 254-3573
B1: 255-0243 F2: 255-0614 G3: 254-3598
C1: 255-0256 F3: 255-0631
