Backup Schedule

As requested and funding allows, CLASSE provides a central backup facility for backing up and archiving critical files and data.

Each Full backup is stored and retrievable for at least three years. Nightly incremental backups are deleted as needed to free up space. If you want your files or data to be archived for long periods of time, it must reside on a backed-up file system for at least 35 days.

One-time archives of specific file systems or directories can be requested as needed (whether or not it's on a regularly backed-up file system) by emailing service-classe@cornell.edu.

For a list of all central CLASSE File systems, please see https://www.classe.cornell.edu/private/computing/filesystems.html .

Please see DataStewardship for more on data stewardship at CLASSE.
