Cornell GuestID

Visitors to CLASSE may register for a Cornell GuestID (which is different from a NetID or a Sponsored NetID), which provides access to the Cornell RedRover wireless network for more than 21 days. Visitors may also use the Cornell-Visitor network. (Previously the Visitor network did not allow access to anything other than web pages, but this limitation has been corrected.)

Instructions for online registration form:
  1. Check that "RS-CLASSE-Guest" appears in the "Group Name" field.
  2. In the "Purpose" field, please indicate your reason for visiting CLASSE and your home institution, e.g. "CHESS user from Stony Brook University". Your registration will be rejected without a valid purpose.
  3. After submitting the form, look for a verification email sent to the address entered on the form. You must click on the verification link in this email to proceed.
  4. After the verification link has been clicked, the CLASSE-IT administrators will approve the registration. You will receive confirmation of approval in a second email.

Notes:
  • GuestIDs will expire if they are not used for one year. If this happens, you can do one of the following:
    • Register for another GuestID, using a different email address OR
    • Submit a CLASSE-IT ServiceRequest for account reactivation. This will take some time, as we have to contact the Cornell Research Division GuestID account administrators.
  • To reset your GuestID password: https://it.cornell.edu/guestids/manage-your-guestid-password
