LNX201 Reboot: Tuesday, 24-Feb-2026 @ 11:00 AM
On Tuesday, 24-Feb-2026, at 11:00 AM, we will be rebooting LNX201, our general purpose Linux login node. As a reminder, please use LNX201 only as a landing pad and for basic productivity tasks. All CPU and memory intensive jobs should be submitted to the
CLASSE Compute Farm. Please submit a
ServiceRequest with any questions or concerns.
Service Request Tips
When submitting a CLASSE-IT
ServiceRequest, please use your institutional email address (e.g. @cornell.edu), if possible. Using a free/commercial email address (e.g. @gmail.com, @yahoo.com) may result in email delivery failures. Additional tips for how to submit tickets effectively can be found at

Update: New Login Process for CLASSE Web Applications
In the coming weeks, we are updating the login system for several CLASSE web applications. While you will continue to use your CLASSE ID, the login screen will look slightly different and will now require Duo multi-factor authentication.
What to Expect:
- When you visit an affected app, you will be redirected to a new login page.
- Enter your CLASSE ID and password as usual.
- Complete the Duo prompt on your mobile device or security key.
Affected Applications:
- Timesheet
- Business Office Home (BOH)
- CHESS Inventory
- Radiation Sources
- Invoicing
Note: BeamPASS will not change. If you have used the
CLASSE-User-Account self-service app recently, you have already seen this new login process in action.
General network and server maintenance will occur every Tuesday from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM. The CLASSE-IT group will always announce any expected disruptions in our
NewsLetter and via
CLASSE-IT-NEWS-L, but with the size and complexity of our network there is always the potential for something to go wrong. We will do our best to contain all network maintenance and planned outages to Tuesdays from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM.
Unless other arrangements have been made,
CLASSE-managed Windows systems may be updated and rebooted on Tuesday morning at 2:00 AM, so please avoid critical or lengthy operations at that time. For more details, please see

The BeamPASS application receives bug fixes and new features on Tuesdays. When these updates are made, users will be logged out but should be able to login again within a few minutes. If you find BeamPASS is unavailable for longer than that, please submit a
ServiceRequest.
