Network and Service Disruptions: Tuesday, 02-Jun-2026 @ 9:00 AM

On Tuesday, 02-Jun-2026, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, there will be brief CLASSE network and service interruptions due to server and network upgrades of CLASSE core networking equipment, firewalls, and servers.

NoMachine Update: Tuesday, 02-Jun-2026

If you are a NoMachine user, at the end of Monday, 01-Jun-2026 (today), please save your work and log out of any NoMachine Virtual Desktops. On Tuesday, 02-Jun-2026, starting at 4:00 AM, all NoMachine servers will be updated to the latest release. When this update occurs, remote connections will be interrupted and all NoMachine Virtual Desktops will be deleted. Please submit a S ServiceRequest with any questions or concerns.

GitLab Update: Tuesday, 02-Jun-2026 @ 10:00 AM

On Tuesday, 02-Jun-2026, at 10:00 AM, the CLASSE Computing. GitLab will be unavailable for approximately one hour for a series of updates. Please submit a ServiceRequest if you have any questions or concerns.

AlmaLinux 9.8: Tuesday 02-Jun-2026. Reboot at your convenience after 10am.

The latest AlmaLinux 9.8 release will be pushed starting at 4:00am Tuesday morning. Although the update should be mostly transparent, we highly reocmmend rebooting your computers anytime after 10am. Please see the release notest for more information, and submit a ServiceRequest if you'd like help rebooting any computers.



General network and server maintenance will occur every Tuesday from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM. The CLASSE-IT group will always announce any expected disruptions in our NewsLetter and via CLASSE-IT-NEWS-L, but with the size and complexity of our network there is always the potential for something to go wrong. We will do our best to contain all network maintenance and planned outages to Tuesdays from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM.

Unless other arrangements have been made, CLASSE-managed Windows systems may be updated and rebooted on Tuesday morning at 2:00 AM, so please avoid critical or lengthy operations at that time. For more details, please see SystemExpectations.

The BeamPASS application receives bug fixes and new features on Tuesdays. When these updates are made, users will be logged out but should be able to login again within a few minutes. If you find BeamPASS is unavailable for longer than that, please submit a ServiceRequest.
