Power outage recovery

Following the extended power outage in the Ithaca area on Saturday (Feb. 4), we restored almost all central CLASSE-IT services by Sunday morning. Currently, we are addressing many miscellaneous issues that arose from the outage. If you are experiencing any problems, please try rebooting your computer, and then submit a ServiceRequest if the problem persists.

CLASSE Laptop User's Guide (Windows 7)

In the past year, the number of CLASSE Windows 7 laptop users has grown sharply. In order to improve the experience of these users, we have put together a laptop user's guide, which is meant to be a quick reference for all the tips and tricks for using a CLASSE-managed laptop. Any suggestions for improvement would be appreciated.



General network and server maintenance will occur every Tuesday from 12 noon to 2:00 PM. The CLASSE-IT group will always announce any expected disruptions in our NewsLetter and via CLASSE-IT-NEWS-L, but with the size and complexity of our network there is always the potential for something to go wrong. We will do our best to contain all network maintenance and planned outages to Tuesdays from 12 noon to 2:00 PM.

Unless other arrangements have been made, CLASSE-managed Windows systems may be updated and rebooted on Tuesday morning at 2:00 AM, so please avoid critical or lengthy operations at that time. For more details, please see SystemExpectations.
