MATLAB server upgrade, Aug 27

On Tuesday, August 27, at 7 am, we will upgrade the license server for MATLAB versions 2012a and earlier (PC176). Please avoid running MATLAB jobs requiring the network license around this time -- unpredictable behavior could result. Jobs using a standalone license should not be affected.

Power outage at Wilson Lab

Wilson Lab lost power briefly at about 5:45 PM on Thursday, August 22nd, due to a passing thunderstorm. Some core systems lost power and needed to be rebooted.

Infrastructure maintenance - 1pm Wednesday Aug. 28

At approximately 1pm Wednesday August 28, the CLASSE IT group will be replacing a failed controller on one of our storage arrays. The operation should be transparent with no interruptions or downtime.

General network and server maintenance will occur every Tuesday from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM. The CLASSE-IT group will always announce any expected disruptions in our NewsLetter and via CLASSE-IT-NEWS-L, but with the size and complexity of our network there is always the potential for something to go wrong. We will do our best to contain all network maintenance and planned outages to Tuesdays from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM.

Unless other arrangements have been made, CLASSE-managed Windows systems may be updated and rebooted on Tuesday morning at 2:00 AM, so please avoid critical or lengthy operations at that time. For more details, please see SystemExpectations.
