Replicon requires Firefox ESR

You must use Firefox ESR 17 in order for Replicon to work for you. Firefox ESR is the version provided on all CLASSE managed Windows computers. Other browsers and versions usually have problems.

The current release of Firefox ESR for Windows, MacOS and Linux can be downloaded from http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/organizations/all.html

A Replicon service (which uses Firefox ESR) also is available on the CLASSE Windows Remote Desktop Server for Windows, MacOS and Linux

Firefox is available in two versions: a stable Extended Support Release and a "bleeding edge" so-called standard release. The ESR version is used at CLASSE in order to maintain compatibility with Cornell's many administrative programs, including Replicon. The standard release of Firefox changes much too often. It often introduces modifications which make it incompatible with other software. In particular, Firefox v20 and later are incompatible with Replicon. Recent releases of many other browsers also no longer work with Replicon.

Scientific Linux 6.4 Update - Tuesday, July 23

Starting Tuesday morning July 23rd, all managed CLASSE Scientific Linux 6 systems will be upgraded to SL6.4. This update should be transparent for most users. For the SL6.4 release notes and additional information on this update, please see http://www.scientificlinux.org/distributions/6x/6.4/ .

lnx6212 is a general-purpose system available for testing SL6.4.

General network and server maintenance will occur every Tuesday from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM. The CLASSE-IT group will always announce any expected disruptions in our NewsLetter and via CLASSE-IT-NEWS-L, but with the size and complexity of our network there is always the potential for something to go wrong. We will do our best to contain all network maintenance and planned outages to Tuesdays from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM.

Unless other arrangements have been made, CLASSE-managed Windows systems may be updated and rebooted on Tuesday morning at 2:00 AM, so please avoid critical or lengthy operations at that time. For more details, please see SystemExpectations.
