WorkDay Problems?

If you are having problems accessing WorkDay (e.g. long periods of the "busy" indicator), please submit a ServiceRequest. Please include the following information:
  • when does the busy indication start (immediately after logging in to Workday, when accessing a specific Workday function (which one?), etc)
  • computer name (pc123, mc123, mr123, etc)
  • where were you working (Wilson, Newman, PSB, etc)
  • browser (Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari, etc)
  • time of day ( 9:05 am, etc)
  • network connection if known (Red Rover, LNS protected, etc)

We've received only one or two reports, but suspect that whatever the problem is might be affecting more people. We're trying to find out if there is a common thread.

Network Outage in the Physical Sciences Building on Tuesday Morning.

There is a brief network outage planned for the Physical Sciences Building on Tuesday morning October 1, 2013, from approximately 7:30-8:00am for CIT to install some upgraded network components.

Video Tutorials

Don't forget about our ongoing series of video tutorials highlighting common computing tasks you may need to perform at CLASSE: https://wiki.classe.cornell.edu/Computing/VideoTutorials. If you have trouble with low audio volume, please see the Help Desk or submit a ServiceRequest for a solution.

Proxy Server Upgrade

CLASSE has now deployed a new Caching Proxy server to speed and secure off-site web browsing from inside our lab. For more details on how our proxy server is setup, as well as instructions on configuring your web browser to use it, please see CachingProxy (https://wiki.classe.cornell.edu/Computing/CachingProxy).

General network and server maintenance will occur every Tuesday from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM. The CLASSE-IT group will always announce any expected disruptions in our NewsLetter and via CLASSE-IT-NEWS-L, but with the size and complexity of our network there is always the potential for something to go wrong. We will do our best to contain all network maintenance and planned outages to Tuesdays from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM.

Unless other arrangements have been made, CLASSE-managed Windows systems may be updated and rebooted on Tuesday morning at 2:00 AM, so please avoid critical or lengthy operations at that time. For more details, please see SystemExpectations.
