Printing from Linux
The following instructions were written using RedHat Enterprise Linux 4
Add Printer
Open the Printer Setup Utility
Depending on your system, it may be found by clicking on the main Applications menu, selecting
System Settings
and then
Printing
Otherwise, you may be able to use the command
printconf
from the command line
Click on
New
Click on
Forward
Give the printer a name and short description
For "Select a queue type:" select
Networked UNIX (LPD)
For "Server" enter
lns61.lns.cornell.edu
For "Queue" enter
w374_xrx_3450
Click
Forward
Leave the "Printer Manufacturer" as
Generic
, and choose
PostScript Printer
click
Forward
Click
Finish
