CLASSE Compute Farm is running Scientific Linux 7 (SL7)

  • All the nodes on the CLASSE Compute Farm have been upgraded to SL7!
  • Please keep this in mind when building ACC code or any other source code - code built on SL7 may not run under SL6.
  • Please report any incompatibilities with the programs you run on the Farm to service-classe@cornell.edu

Open Request for Linux users to Upgrade to SL7

As the Lab's ultimate plan is to migrate all CLASSE SL6 systems to SL7, we would like to invite all Linux users to upgrade to SL7. If you are interested, please email service-classe@cornell.edu to schedule a time.

Please see ScientificLinux7 for introductory documentation on SL7.

General network and server maintenance will occur every Tuesday from 12 noon to 2:00 PM. The CLASSE-IT group will always announce any expected disruptions in our NewsLetter and via CLASSE-IT-NEWS-L, but with the size and complexity of our network there is always the potential for something to go wrong. We will do our best to contain all network maintenance and planned outages to Tuesdays from 12 noon to 2:00 PM.

Unless other arrangements have been made, CLASSE-managed Windows systems may be updated and rebooted on Tuesday morning at 2:00 AM, so please avoid critical or lengthy operations at that time. For more details, please see SystemExpectations.
