Multi-step instructions to add an R&D project to the register


Step 1: The Project leader must mailto:c.damerell@rl.ac.uk email the Panel chair to provide all of the following information.

  • Project name, (example: "Development of a better pixel detector")
  • System, (Select a topic from the list on the home page, example: vertexing)
  • Contact, (Provide the name, institution, and email address of the one individual in your group who will be the contact to the Detector R&D Panel)
  • Institutions (List all institutions actively involved in the project.)

resulting action: The Panel chair will accept the new project and notify the register administrator that there is a new project.


Step 2: The "Contact" must email the "register administrator" to provide all of the following information.

  • Project name, (example: "Development of a better pixel detector")
  • System, (Select a topic from the list on the home page, example: vertexing)
  • Contact, (Provide the name, institution, and email address of the one individual in your group who will be the contact to the Detector R&D Panel)
  • Institutions (List all institutions actively involved in the project.)
  • Detector Concept Affiliations (SiD, LDC, or GLD)
  • Umbrella Organization Affiliations ( At this time, the register is supporting affiliation with CALICE, LC-TPC, or SiLC.) If the project is affiliated with an umbrella organization, state whether the project is to be listed also under "individual projects".
  • web page (the URL for a privately maintained web page related to this research)
  • a recent presentation or publication (This must be related to the research. This can be attached or a link. Provide the name of the presenter, venue and date. It must be in PDF. We find that PDF is a more portable format for documents)
  • Research Statement(This may text, or attached as MS-word or PDF. Answer the questions listed in the research statement template)
  • Numbers for your Funding chart( Provide the numbers to fill in the funding chart, for years in which this project has received any funding, as shown in the funding template. Note that this is not the same information requested on the "Topic priorities and estimated support needed" questionaire.)
  • Preference will be given to those who provide all the information in one email.

resulting action: The register adminitrator will review the materials. If the materials meet the specifications, the register adminitrator will create a wiki registration for the contact, create the pages, and send further instructions to fill in the collaborators list.
