Manual Method

  1. Start Exceed: Go to Start -> (Programs) -> Hummingbird Connectivity 2006 -> Exceed.
    (Nothing will seem to happen, but Exceed will be running in the background.You will see an exceed entry in the taskbar.)
  2. Start Putty: Go to Start -> (Programs) -> Putty -> Putty.
  3. Enter the name of the Linux computer that you want to connect to. Click open.
  4. Once connected (you might have to accept a fingerprint if you have never connected to this Linux computer before) log in with your LEPP Unix interactive username and password.
  5. Run the X program you need, xterm or xclock for instance. NOTE - backspace may not work correctly: try Ctrl-H
