CLASSE Managed Flash Update on Windows
We are again updating flash tonight for CLASSE managed Windows computers.
CLASSE's Conference Management service, powered by
Indico has been updated and reconfigured to support both internal (CLASSE) and external users and groups. The updated server is available at
http://indico.classe.cornell.edu, and redirects are in place from the old server to the new. Please log in with your CLASSE credentials.
Indico supports the entire event organization workflow from registration to agenda creation to uploading and retrieving presentations, papers, etc.
Please contact
service-classe@cornell.edu for help organizing and managing any conferences, meetings, or workshops.
Firefox Profile and Linux Home Directory Quotas
Occasionally, a user will find Firefox's cache growing large enough to exceed their Linux home directory quota. To prevent this from happening, we recommend you limit Firefox's cache as documented here:
For more on Linux home directory quotas, please see
https://wiki.classe.cornell.edu/Computing/HomeDisk
General network and server maintenance will occur every Tuesday from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM. The CLASSE-IT group will always announce any expected disruptions in our
NewsLetter and via
CLASSE-IT-NEWS-L, but with the size and complexity of our network there is always the potential for something to go wrong. We will do our best to contain all network maintenance and planned outages to Tuesdays from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM.
Unless other arrangements have been made,
CLASSE-managed Windows systems may be updated and rebooted on Tuesday morning at 2:00 AM, so please avoid critical or lengthy operations at that time. For more details, please see
SystemExpectations.
