New functions for PDFs on CLASSE Managed Windows computers
Tonight during Windows updates, we are upgrading from PDF-X-Change Viewer 2.5.x to PDF-X-Change Pro 2012. You will have a new PDF Editor program that will view PDFs by default on your computers. You will also have additional tools available for splitting, merging and scanning to PDFs. PDF Editor will also let you convert from .doc files to PDF and from PDF to .doc files. You can also add or remove pages to existing PDFs. We encourage you to explore the new functionality, with the understanding that there are of course some issues in converting between file types and it will not be 1 to 1 pixel perfect.

Important, timely notices about CLASSE and Cornell computer-related events, including email, printing and network outages, are available if you subscribe to the mailing list CLASSE-IT-NEWS-L. For details, please see

General network and server maintenance will occur every Tuesday from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM. The CLASSE-IT group will always announce any expected disruptions in our
NewsLetter and via
CLASSE-IT-NEWS-L, but with the size and complexity of our network there is always the potential for something to go wrong. We will do our best to contain all network maintenance and planned outages to Tuesdays from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM.
Unless other arrangements have been made,
CLASSE-managed Windows systems may be updated and rebooted on Tuesday morning at 2:00 AM, so please avoid critical or lengthy operations at that time. For more details, please see
SystemExpectations.
