Outage for WinAPP re-configuration Tuesday

There will be a 1hr outage Tuesday Morning starting around 8:30 to reconfigure WinAPP to improve performance on the cluster. This will only affect users of the WinApp server.

Office 365 Notes

  • Apple still has not released a patch for the problems iOS v6.1 has when interacting witn an Exchange server.
  • Don't configure your smartphone to be "authoritative" when using active-sync to access the mail service. People who have done so have managed to completely delete their Exchange calendars beyond hope of recovery.
  • Please report Office 365 email problems, including long delays in mail delivery, to the CIT help desk at 255-5500 or itservicedesk@cornell.edu If you don't report it, they can't know there's something wrong.



General network and server maintenance will occur every Tuesday from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM. The CLASSE-IT group will always announce any expected disruptions in our NewsLetter and via CLASSE-IT-NEWS-L, but with the size and complexity of our network there is always the potential for something to go wrong. We will do our best to contain all network maintenance and planned outages to Tuesdays from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM.

Unless other arrangements have been made, CLASSE-managed Windows systems may be updated and rebooted on Tuesday morning at 2:00 AM, so please avoid critical or lengthy operations at that time. For more details, please see SystemExpectations.
