Firefox updates
CLASSE Windows computers will get security patches to Firefox and Flash tonight during our standard update period.
Prepare for major version update
In the next 6-12 weeks, CLASSE Managed computers will be getting Firefox v45 ESR. This has User Interface changes. The primary change is the removal of the Tab Groups (Panorama) feature but it will be available as an extension for FF v45 ESR and up. More details are here:
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/tab-groups-removal - Note that you cannot install the replacement extension on FF v38, and will have to wait for v45 ESR to be installedt. We also do not recommend other tab editing extensions as some of them can make certain websites not work.
General network and server maintenance will occur every Tuesday from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM. The CLASSE-IT group will always announce any expected disruptions in our
NewsLetter and via
CLASSE-IT-NEWS-L, but with the size and complexity of our network there is always the potential for something to go wrong. We will do our best to contain all network maintenance and planned outages to Tuesdays from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM.
Unless other arrangements have been made,
CLASSE-managed Windows systems may be updated and rebooted on Tuesday morning at 2:00 AM, so please avoid critical or lengthy operations at that time. For more details, please see
SystemExpectations.
