X2Go replacing NX
X2Go has replaced NX as CLASSE's solution for remote linux desktops. For more information, please see
X2Go.
Due to repeated failures, the NX server, lnx200, will be shutdown on Tuesday, October 14.
DC1 outage Tuesday from 10-11AM
One of the three CLASSE Active Directory Domain Controllers, DC1, will be down on Tueadsy, October 14, from 10 to 11AM for a memory upgrade.
During this outage, new logins on the Wiki and e-log will not be possible, and logins to other services including CLASSE computers might be slow. We are installing additional RAM to help improve its performance after the outage.
General network and server maintenance will occur every Tuesday from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM. The CLASSE-IT group will always announce any expected disruptions in our
NewsLetter and via
CLASSE-IT-NEWS-L, but with the size and complexity of our network there is always the potential for something to go wrong. We will do our best to contain all network maintenance and planned outages to Tuesdays from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM.
Unless other arrangements have been made,
CLASSE-managed Windows systems may be updated and rebooted on Tuesday morning at 2:00 AM, so please avoid critical or lengthy operations at that time. For more details, please see
SystemExpectations.
