FAQ:

How can I tell what version of Linux I am using, and how do I make sure my machine stays up to date?

ANSWER:

To find out exactly what version of Linux a LEPP system is running, you can try the following commands:

uname -sr
and
cat /etc/redhat-release

We are currently running Scientific Linux 4 on our desktop nodes and Scientific Linux 3 on servers.

As far as individual packages go, we manage all updates which should be automatically pushed uniformly to every linux system at LEPP.
