Windows XP and newer allow users to run certain programs as another user. This is useful if you use a standard user account most of the time, but need an administrator account to install software.
Under Windows XP, you can right click on an executable and select "RunAs". You can then select, use another account and provide the login credentials.
Windows 7 requires you to hold down the "Shift" key before right clicking to see the option, and then select "Run as different user". You will then be allowed to enter alternative login credentials.
