AppsAnywhere Server Upgrade: Tuesday, 20-Sep-2022 @ 9:00 AM
On Tuesday, 20-Sep-2022, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, there will be a series of brief outages of the
AppsAnywhere service for a Cloudpaging server upgrade. During these outages, any applications that are active might report that there is an interruption; they will resume when the connection returns. Applications that are "offline allowed" will not be affected. After the server upgrade is complete, a new version of the CloudPaging Player software will be pushed to your computer when you access the AppsAnywhere web interface, and you will be prompted to reboot. If you have any questions or concerns, please submit a
ServiceRequest.
GitLab Update: Tuesday, 20-Sep-2022 @ 10:30 AM
On Tuesday, 20-Sep-2022, at 10:30 AM, the
CLASSE GitLab will be unavailable for approximately one hour for a series of updates. Please submit a
ServiceRequest if you have any questions or concerns.
Beware of Phishing
With the start of the school year, we have seen an increase in phishing scams directed at CLASSE personnel. Often, these fraudulent emails are sent by someone impersonating a colleague or supervisor, and they usually include an urgent request ("Are you available?"). Before responding to such messages, please check that the sender's email address is one that you recognize. For more information, please refer to these resources from the Cornell IT Security Office:
General network and server maintenance will occur every Tuesday from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM. The CLASSE-IT group will always announce any expected disruptions in our
NewsLetter and via
CLASSE-IT-NEWS-L, but with the size and complexity of our network there is always the potential for something to go wrong. We will do our best to contain all network maintenance and planned outages to Tuesdays from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM.
Unless other arrangements have been made,
CLASSE-managed Windows systems may be updated and rebooted on Tuesday morning at 2:00 AM, so please avoid critical or lengthy operations at that time. For more details, please see
SystemExpectations.
