Beginning on Sunday, 31-Mar-2019, some users have been unable to reach
service-classe@cornell.edu by email. If you emailed
service-classe@cornell.edu but did NOT receive an automatic reply, then your message was not forwarded to our ticketing system. While we work on resolving this issue, we are currently routing these messages by hand, so responses will take a bit longer than usual. Tickets sent through our

Flash Plugin Deprecated in Firefox
In response to Adobe's ending of support for Flash by 2021, Firefox has announced that it will gradually remove Flash capabilities from its browser beginning in September 2019:
- 2019: In Firefox v69 (September), the "Always Activate" Flash option will no longer be available. Users will be prompted every time a site wants to activate Flash.
- 2020: Flash support will be completely removed from consumer (home) versions of Firefox. Firefox ESR (used by CLASSE) will continue to support Flash until the end of 2020.
- 2021: Firefox will refuse to load the Flash Plugin.
To prepare for this change, please submit a
ServiceRequest if you know of any workflows that require the use of Flash after 2020.
General network and server maintenance will occur every Tuesday from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM. The CLASSE-IT group will always announce any expected disruptions in our
NewsLetter and via
CLASSE-IT-NEWS-L, but with the size and complexity of our network there is always the potential for something to go wrong. We will do our best to contain all network maintenance and planned outages to Tuesdays from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM.
Unless other arrangements have been made,
CLASSE-managed Windows systems may be updated and rebooted on Tuesday morning at 2:00 AM, so please avoid critical or lengthy operations at that time. For more details, please see
SystemExpectations.
