Network Outage: TOMORROW, 24-Jul-2018 @ 12:00 Noon

At 12:00 noon on Tuesday, 24-Jul-2018, we will upgrade the network infrastructure for the CLASSE Compute Farm and the Wilson Lab East Module server room. Network access to the CLASSE Compute Farm -- including any interactive use of CLASSE GRID -- will be interrupted for about two hours, during our normal maintenance window.

Since this upgrade includes a small reconfiguration of the central CLASSE network switch, there is a chance that internal CLASSE networks will also be affected. If we encounter any problems, we will roll back the changes so that network service is restored by the end of the maintenance window at 2:00 PM.

Compute Farm Outage: Ongoing

Because of the planned network outage on 24-Jul-2018, the batch queues on the CLASSE Compute Farm have been disabled since Friday, 20-Jul-2018 at 5:00 PM. They will be re-enabled at the conclusion of the network outage, around 2:00 PM on Tuesday, 24-Jul-2018.

General network and server maintenance will occur every Tuesday from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM. The CLASSE-IT group will always announce any expected disruptions in our NewsLetter and via CLASSE-IT-NEWS-L, but with the size and complexity of our network there is always the potential for something to go wrong. We will do our best to contain all network maintenance and planned outages to Tuesdays from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM.

Unless other arrangements have been made, CLASSE-managed Windows systems may be updated and rebooted on Tuesday morning at 2:00 AM, so please avoid critical or lengthy operations at that time. For more details, please see SystemExpectations.
