Potential Network Disruption: Tuesday, 05-Mar-2019 @ 10:30 AM

On Tuesday, 05-Mar-2019, from 10:30 AM to 12:00 noon, there will be potential network disruptions as we make a configuration change to one of our core network switches.

Wilson Lab West Module Switch Replacement: Tuesday, 05-Mar-2019 @ 10:30 AM

On Tuesday, 05-Mar-2019, after the successful completion of the core network switch configuration announced above, we will continue to replace a defective network switch in the Wilson Lab West Module (a.k.a. CHESS trailer). Please expect a 15-20 minute network outage in the West Module sometime between 10:30 AM and 12:00 noon.

Public Inventor Workstation Replacement: Next Week

Sometime next week, we will be replacing PC73, the main Inventor workstation in the Wilson Lab public terminal room (W-315). Please check in any local Inventor files on PC73 to the Vault before Monday, 11-Mar-2019.

New Video: Switching Wired/Wireless Networks on Win10

We have updated our video documentation with a new video about how to switch between wired and wireless networks on our CLASSE-managed Windows 10 laptops. For more documentation on CLASSE-managed Windows laptops, please see our LaptopUsersGuide.

General network and server maintenance will occur every Tuesday from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM. The CLASSE-IT group will always announce any expected disruptions in our NewsLetter and via CLASSE-IT-NEWS-L, but with the size and complexity of our network there is always the potential for something to go wrong. We will do our best to contain all network maintenance and planned outages to Tuesdays from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM.

Unless other arrangements have been made, CLASSE-managed Windows systems may be updated and rebooted on Tuesday morning at 2:00 AM, so please avoid critical or lengthy operations at that time. For more details, please see SystemExpectations.
