New Web Client for CLASSE Chat Service

CLASSE provides a chat service for all CLASSE users, using CLASSE authentication. The service was designed to ensure security and privacy, with the ability to chat directly with other CLASSE users or with groups of users. The system is very flexible, so please submit a ServiceRequest if you would like a new group chat room created or if you have a use case that isn't met by our current configuration.

To access the web client, please browse to https://www.classe.cornell.edu/chat/ . Please see XMPPChat for more details and instructions on configuring a client on your computer or mobile device.

Please let us know if you'd like any of the above data to remain on disk. And as always, this and other data can be restored from tape by emailing service-classe@cornell.edu.

Inventor 2017 Service Pack 4

CLASSE Managed Windows computers will start pulling Inventor 2017 SP4 and a hotfix during our maintenance windows. This will close Inventor if it's open, so please save your work. Otherwise, it should be transparent to you. If your computer doesn't upgrade, feel free to open a service request.

General network and server maintenance will occur every Tuesday from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM. The CLASSE-IT group will always announce any expected disruptions in our NewsLetter and via CLASSE-IT-NEWS-L, but with the size and complexity of our network there is always the potential for something to go wrong. We will do our best to contain all network maintenance and planned outages to Tuesdays from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM.

Unless other arrangements have been made, CLASSE-managed Windows systems may be updated and rebooted on Tuesday morning at 2:00 AM, so please avoid critical or lengthy operations at that time. For more details, please see SystemExpectations.
