Deployment Checklist

• Computer Name:
• WBS:
• Location for Deployment:
• RT:

All OS

• Sign out/order computer or reuse from pool
• Sign out monitor or reuse from pool
• Install requested hardware upgrades

Configuration Management

• Connect to winapp3 with your admindo credentials, launch ADUC, then remove the computer from ADUC's database
• Check if Computer name already in Foreman - point a browser to puppet.classe.cornell.edu and search for hostname
  • If yes, log into lnxpup.classe.cornell.edu with your admindo credential, then issue command puppet node clean fqdn.classe.cornell.edu
• Set puppet Hostgroup for type of install
  • CLASSE - Desktop
  • CLASSE/Laptop - Laptop
  • CLASSE/Kiosk - Kiosk
  • CLASSE/Kiosk/SLKiosk - SLKiosk
  • CLASSE/ - Special or Server.
• Override Parameters in Foreman if necessary.
• Install OS

All Linux:

• puppet agent -t
• Test Reboot
• Test X config

Windows:

• puppet agent -t
• Lenovo System Update
• Windows Updates
• Additional Software Installs
• Test Reboot
• IMPORTANT: log in to your admin account

Final Deployment

Apply Labels

• Nodename and WBS
• Expiration Date Label (5 years from deployment date)
• Other (REU, etc)

Update GLPI

• Location
• Enter note about computer use, sign with (netID)
• Get needed cables / adapters . . .
• Make sure networking is done

Deploy System!
