Sample Holder Examples

  • Due to the accuracy required to successfully use the Sample Holder, please have the Sample Holder printed professionally.
    -Here is the design file download for the sample holder: SampleHolder_UTK_R2.STL
    -Here is the design file download for the calibration/standards sample holder: CalibrationStandards_UTK_R1.STL
  • Print sample holder or have one shipped to you: contact Louisa Smieska or Arthur Woll regarding shipping.
  • How to mount samples:
Use Kapton film and double-sided tape to affix your samples to the Sample Holder.

Gel Samples

For gel samples:
-Place a 3" x 4" sheet of Kapton film along the back side of the Sample Holder and affix the film to the holder with tape.
-Place your samples individually in the numbered wells.
-Place a 3" x 4" Kapton film over the front of the Sample Holder and affix with tape.

Powder Samples

For powder samples:
-Prepare the powder sample in a 5/16" washer and place the washer in the appropriate sample holder well.

Solid Samples

For solid samples:
-Place samples in the recessed areas across the wells and place tape across the sides to hold the sample in place.
