NoMachine Update: Tuesday, 04-Oct-2022

Today, 03-Oct-2022, please save your work and log out of any NoMachine Virtual Desktops at the end of the day. Starting at 4:00 AM on Tuesday, 04-Oct-2022, all NoMachine servers will be updated to the latest release (version 8). When this update occurs, remote connections will be interrupted and all NoMachine Virtual Desktops will be deleted. Please submit a ServiceRequest with any questions or concerns.

Globus Update: Tuesday, 04-Oct-2022 @ 8:30 AM

On Tuesady, 04-Oct-2022, our Globus endpoint will be updated to the latest release. We hope to have it complete by Noon, but the outage may last until the afternoon. During this outage, any offsite data transfer can take place using SCP or SFTP to lnx201.classe.cornell.edu Updates will be posted to our ClasseNews mailing list throughout the day.

GitLab Update: Tuesday, 04-Oct-2022 @ 10:30 AM

On Tuesday, 04-Oct-2022, at 10:30 AM, the CLASSE GitLab will be unavailable for approximately one hour for a series of updates. Please submit a ServiceRequest if you have any questions or concerns.

General network and server maintenance will occur every Tuesday from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM. The CLASSE-IT group will always announce any expected disruptions in our NewsLetter and via CLASSE-IT-NEWS-L, but with the size and complexity of our network there is always the potential for something to go wrong. We will do our best to contain all network maintenance and planned outages to Tuesdays from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM.

Unless other arrangements have been made, CLASSE-managed Windows systems may be updated and rebooted on Tuesday morning at 2:00 AM, so please avoid critical or lengthy operations at that time. For more details, please see SystemExpectations.
