Use WinAPP2 for Adobe Software

If your job duties require access to Adobe software on Windows (e.g. Acrobat or Photoshop), please log into WinAPP2, which is our Windows terminal server. On WinAPP2, you can use Creative Suite 6 products directly. You can also use Adobe Creative Cloud if you have been granted access to the Cornell Adobe license (see NewsletterNovember122018).

Instead of Adobe products, we provide alternative software titles (on CLASSE-managed Windows computers) that are easier for us to support. For example, PDF-XChange Editor allows you to access and edit PDFs right on your local computer. And GIMP (an advanced bitmap image editor) is available directly on all CLASSE-managed Linux computers (via the CLASSE GRID shortcut on your Windows desktop).

General network and server maintenance will occur every Tuesday from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM. The CLASSE-IT group will always announce any expected disruptions in our NewsLetter and via CLASSE-IT-NEWS-L, but with the size and complexity of our network there is always the potential for something to go wrong. We will do our best to contain all network maintenance and planned outages to Tuesdays from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM.

Unless other arrangements have been made, CLASSE-managed Windows systems may be updated and rebooted on Tuesday morning at 2:00 AM, so please avoid critical or lengthy operations at that time. For more details, please see SystemExpectations.
