AppsAnywhere Update: Tuesday, 09-Mar-2021 @ 10:30 AM

On Tuesday, 09-Mar-2021, beginning at 10:30 AM, the AppsAnywhere CloudPaging Player will be updated on CLASSE-managed Windows computers. For this update, any open AppsAnywhere applications will be closed, and you will be prompted to reboot. Please submit a ServiceRequest with any questions or concerns.

ScreenConnect Update: Tuesday, 16-Mar-2021 @ 10:30 AM

On Tuesday, 16-Mar-2021, starting at 10:30 AM, the ScreenConnect service will be unavailable for up to an hour for a server update. During this time, you will be disconnected from existing remote sessions, and you will not be able to start new remote sessions. We will distribute client updates during the next standard maintenance window.

Beware of Targeted Phishing

In the past week, we have seen an increase in targeted phishing scams directed at CLASSE personnel. These fraudulent emails are sent by someone impersonating a colleague or supervisor, and they usually include an urgent request ("Are you available?"). Before responding to such messages, please check that the sender's email address is one that you recognize. More information about how to spot and avoid phishing scams is available here.

[CIT] Two-Step Login for Cornell Email

Starting Tuesday, 20-Apr-2021, Two-Step Login for Office 365 will be required for Cornell faculty and academic employees. For further information, please see: Users are encouraged to opt in to Two-Step Login for Office 365 before the transition. Please report any email or Duo issues to the CIT Service Desk. You may use Outlook on the Web while your problem is being resolved.



General network and server maintenance will occur every Tuesday from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM. The CLASSE-IT group will always announce any expected disruptions in our NewsLetter and via CLASSE-IT-NEWS-L, but with the size and complexity of our network there is always the potential for something to go wrong. We will do our best to contain all network maintenance and planned outages to Tuesdays from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM.

Unless other arrangements have been made, CLASSE-managed Windows systems may be updated and rebooted on Tuesday morning at 2:00 AM, so please avoid critical or lengthy operations at that time. For more details, please see SystemExpectations.
