Web Browsers for CULearn CU101

Last week, Cornell introduced a new required staff training available as CULearn course CU101. In our testing, this course works properly with the two browsers supported by CLASSE-IT — Vivaldi and Firefox — but with the following caveats:
  • You may need to allow popups (see above links for instructions).
  • If a launch button does not appear, click the “view details” button.
  • You may ignore or dismiss the message that says "Your browser does not meet the minimum requirements for Canvas."; you will be able to complete the training anyway.
  • Be patient; the training sometimes takes a long time to load.

Headsets for Zoom and Trainings

If you need headphones and a microphone to participate in online meetings or trainings, we have arranged for USB headsets to be carried as a regular CLASSE stockroom item. Please check with the Wilson Lab stockroom for availability.

General network and server maintenance will occur every Tuesday from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM. The CLASSE-IT group will always announce any expected disruptions in our NewsLetter and via CLASSE-IT-NEWS-L, but with the size and complexity of our network there is always the potential for something to go wrong. We will do our best to contain all network maintenance and planned outages to Tuesdays from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM.

Unless other arrangements have been made, CLASSE-managed Windows systems may be updated and rebooted on Tuesday morning at 2:00 AM, so please avoid critical or lengthy operations at that time. For more details, please see SystemExpectations.
