LNX201 Maintenance: Tuesday, 27-Aug-2019 @ 10:00 AM
On Tuesday, 27-Aug-2019, our general-purposes Linux login node, lnx201, will be DOWN
for one hour, starting at 10:00 AM. In addtion, the CLASSE GRID
script will not be functional during the lnx201 outage. We will be replacing a single failed memory DIMM and adding eight more DIMMs, thus doubling the available memory in lnx201 to 128 GB.
SAMBA Maintenance: Tuesday, 27-Aug-2019 @ 10:00 AM
On Tuesday, 27-Aug-2019, at 10:00 AM, there will be a brief outage of the CLASSE samba service as we attempt to resolve the intermittent printing and file access problems observed in the past two weeks. During this time, the CLASSE central filesystems can still be accessed directly via Linux
, as well as via SFTP or SCP
ScreenConnect Upgrade: Tuesday, 27-Aug-2019 @ 10:00 AM
On Tuesday, 27-Aug-2019, starting at 10:00 AM, ScreenConnect
will be DOWN
for up to two hours for an upgrade. During this time, you will be disconnected from remote sessions and will not be able to start new remote sessions.
Cornell Dropbox Upgrade and Name Change
On Friday, 23-Aug-2019, Cornell Dropbox was upgraded. Users will see the maximum size of files that can be transferred increase from 2 GB to 5 GB. Also, Cornell Dropbox will be renamed "Cornell Secure File Transfer" and its website URL will become sft.cornell.edu. For more information, see here
General network and server maintenance will occur every Tuesday from 12 noon to 2:00 PM.

, but with the size and complexity of our network there is always the potential for something to go wrong. We will do our best to contain all network maintenance and planned outages to Tuesdays from 12 noon to 2:00 PM.
Unless other arrangements have been made, CLASSE-managed Windows systems may be updated and rebooted on Tuesday morning at 2:00 AM
