NoMachine Update: Tuesday, 28-Nov-2023
If you are a
NoMachine user, at the end of TODAY, Monday, 27-Nov-2023, please save your work and log out of any
NoMachine Virtual Desktops. On Tuesday, 28-Nov-2023, starting at 4:00 AM, all
NoMachine servers will be updated to the latest release. When this update occurs, remote connections will be interrupted and all
NoMachine Virtual Desktops will be deleted. Please submit a
ServiceRequest with any questions or concerns.
Potential Service Interruptions: Tuesday, 28-Nov-2023 @ 10:00 AM
On Tuesday, 28-Nov-2023, at 10:00 AM, maintenance will be conducted on the CLASSE virtual machine cluster. Although no interruptions are expected, you may experience a momentary pause in access to the following servers and services.
Beware of Targeted Phishing
In the past month, we have seen an increase in phishing scams directed at CLASSE personnel. Often, these fraudulent emails or texts are sent by someone impersonating a colleague or supervisor, and they usually include an urgent request ("Are you available?"). Before responding to such messages, please check that the sender's email address or phone number is one that you recognize. General network and server maintenance will occur every Tuesday from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM. The CLASSE-IT group will always announce any expected disruptions in our
NewsLetter and via
CLASSE-IT-NEWS-L, but with the size and complexity of our network there is always the potential for something to go wrong. We will do our best to contain all network maintenance and planned outages to Tuesdays from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM.
Unless other arrangements have been made,
CLASSE-managed Windows systems may be updated and rebooted on Tuesday morning at 2:00 AM, so please avoid critical or lengthy operations at that time. For more details, please see
