ScreenConnect Update: Tuesday, 16-Nov-2021 @ 12:00 Noon
On Tuesday, 16-Nov-2021, starting at 12:00 noon, the ScreenConnect
service will be unavailable for up to an hour for maintenance. During this time, you will be disconnected from existing remote sessions, and you will not be able to start new remote sessions.
CLASSE Windows Laptops: Monday Night Updates
If you are using a CLASSE-managed Windows laptop, please make sure it is on a CLASSE network every Monday night through Tuesday morning to receive weekly updates. You may connect to the CLASSE VPN
or an LNS Protected ethernet cable, and please plug in your power cord. Doing so will ensure that your laptop is kept up to date. As usual, these Monday night updates might require multiple reboots of your laptop. More information about connecting laptops to a CLASSE network can be found in our LaptopUsersGuide
New Windows Printer Queues
As previously announced
, all Windows printer queues have now been migrated from CUPS to PrinterLogic. If your CLASSE-managed Windows computer no longer shows any printers available, please reboot twice and wait 30 minutes for the printer list to repopulate. If your printer list remains empty after rebooting, please submit a ServiceRequest
to report the problem. The most up-to-date queue names can be found in our printer documentation
CLASSE Duo: Two-Factor Authentication
In light of the increased threat posed by ransomware and account compromises, CLASSE is adopting the use of Duo two-factor authentication for enhanced security of web services and remote logins. CLASSE Duo
operates very similarly to Cornell's Duo service
, although a separate CLASSE registration is required. To enroll in CLASSE Duo, please see these instructions
for our web-based management portal. CLASSE Duo is currently required for the new VPN (Pritunl)

General network and server maintenance will occur every Tuesday from 12 noon to 2:00 PM.

, but with the size and complexity of our network there is always the potential for something to go wrong. We will do our best to contain all network maintenance and planned outages to Tuesdays from 12 noon to 2:00 PM.
Unless other arrangements have been made, CLASSE-managed Windows systems may be updated and rebooted on Tuesday morning at 2:00 AM
